Sunderland want £7 million as transfer fee for Paddy McNair amid interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brighton and Hove Albion, according to The Northern Echo.

It has been reported that Premier League club Wolves and Brighton are interested in securing the services of McNair from Sunderland, who will play in League One next season after getting relegated from the Championship.

It has also been claimed that Seagulls will make a £5 million bid for the former Manchester United youngster, who can operate as a defender or as a midfielder.

Worth the transfer fee?

McNair is a good player who can operate as a defender or as a midfielder, and he would be a decent signing for Wolves.

The 23-year-old has experience of playing in the Premier League, and that could come in handy for Nuno’s side.

A transfer fee of £7m these days is not much, although the Wanderers should also consider whether they can find a similar player for a cheaper price anywhere else.
