Sunderland and Sheffield United are reportedly interested in Jermain Defoe of Bournemouth.

Sunderland owner Stewart Donald recently revealed on BBC Radio Newcastle that he tried to sign Jermain Defoe from Bournemouth in the summer transfer window.
Donald disclosed that Sunderland made a loan approach for Defoe, but Bournemouth turned it down, and the Black Cats owner suggested that the League One club could make another similar approach in the January transfer window (click here to read more).
Whether or not Defoe will be willing to step down from the Premier League to League One remains to be seen, but the Black Cats appear to be facing competition for the former West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur striker.
According to The Sun, Sheffield United are interested in signing the 36-year-old striker on loan from Bournemouth in the January transfer window.

United are challenging for promotion from the Championship, and manager Chris Wilder reportedly wants to secure the services of Defoe on loan.
The Blades are a massive club, and playing in the Championship could be more tempting than turning out for his former side Sunderland in League One for Defoe, who is struggling for playing time at Bournemouth at the moment.
