Sunderland reportedly rejected £3.75million bid for Paddy McNair from “unnamed London-based club” – could it be West Ham?
Interest in Paddy McNair is increasing, with the Sunderland Echo reporting that Sunderland have rejected two more offers for the midfielder.
One was an improved £3.5million bid from Brighton and Hove Albion, while the other was for £3.75million and came from an “unnamed London-based club”.
Who is it?
McNair has already expressed his desire to be back playing in the Premier League having suffered successive relegations with the Black Cats to League One over the past two seasons.
Brighton are clearly keen to give him that chance, but could the other side from London also be playing in the top flight of English football currently?
There are six teams from the capital in the top tier – Arsenal, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United – and of the group the Hammers seems like a likely option.
Both central midfield and centre-back, two positions where McNair can play, have been targeted for improvement in the transfer market this summer by new manager Manuel Pellegrini.
