Duncan Watmore is seeing a lot of first team action at Sunderland.
Sunderland manager David Moyes has praised the performance of Duncan Watmore following their side’s first Premier League win of the season, the Sunderland Echo reports.
The Black Cats came from behind to record a 2-1 win over Bournemouth at Dean Court to make it five points from 11 games so far this season – and to within six points of safety, and found the net himself only for the goal to be ruled offside.
Moyes is quoted in the Sunderland Echo, saying: “He’s got something. He needs to learn when to slow down and when to speed up a bit more.

“Technically, hopefully his development will improve.
“I thought Duncan, at times, was really positive against Bournemouth.”
The 22-year-old has shown that he is a very capable footballer, but naturally there is plenty of improvement in him yet. Moyes seems to be focussing on beating any offisde trap, and how he can manage his energy and bursts of pace. A good burst of pace at the right time can prove pivotal in getting away from a man and open a game up.

He is another player that could contribute in front of goal and relieve the burden on Jermain Defoe. Victor Anichebe became only the third player to find the net in the league for Sunderland this season – and they will need more players to start scoring if they are to avoid relegation once again this season.
Watmore has been one of the players that have raised a few eyebrows in recent seasons. There certainly does seem to be something about him which suggests he can develop into a really good player. Sunderland will hope he can realise his potential with them.
