David Moyes is currently enduring a difficult spell with the Premier League side.

Sunderland hero Micky Gray has suggested that the Black Cats should look to appoint Ryan Giggs as their next manager, talkSPORT reports.
David Moyes remains at the Stadium of Light, and nothing has been reported that would suggest that he is fighting to save his job.

Nevertheless, Sunderland have made a hugely disappointing start to the new season. They currently sit bottom of the Premier League table having failed to win any of their first seven games.
And while Gray – who made 363 league appearances for the club during his playing days – insisted that he was not insinuating that Moyes should go, he explained that, in his opinion, the club would be foolish to not look at Giggs if the opportunity came up, suggesting that Roy Keane’s successful stint should give them confidence about what the Welshman could do.

“He may have had a little bit of a falling out with the players and fans towards the end, but I don’t think you can forget what Roy brought to Sunderland,” he told talkSPORT.
“He was the one who got the club back into the Premier League and that was his first job – I think Ryan Giggs would have the same effect.
“I’m not dissing David Moyes here, I’m not trying to get him out of the job.
“All I’m saying is that if there was an opportunity to bring Ryan in, I would take him.”

Given Sunderland’s current position, it would undoubtedly be a major gamble if they decided to replace someone with Moyes’ experience in favour of the Manchester United legend.
Giggs is still awaiting his first permanent managerial appointment, so it would arguably be an odd decision if they deemed the 42-year-old to have a better chance of keeping the Black Cats up than Moyes does.
But if they felt that Giggs had the potential to take the side to the next level in the long-term – even if they take some steps backwards beforehand – it may be a gamble that they are willing to take.
