Sunderland are reportedly interested in signing Kevin Stewart from Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp once claimed to the Daily Mirror that reported Sunderland transfer target Kevin Stewart was the best tackler at Anfield.
Stewart appeared to be on the verge of a break through at Liverpool earlier this season, when he was handed a run of first-team appearances.
However, the midfielder has failed to push on, and has not been seen in Liverpool’s first team since way back in September last year.

Sunderland are now said to be keen to snap up Stewart (Daily Mail), as they believe he could be a valuable addition to their side as they chase Championship promotion.
And Klopp’s words about Stewart from earlier this season should offer Sunderland fans encouragement that the midfielder would be a quality signing.
“He was very important,” Klopp stated. “I have said a few times, he’s the best challenger in the squad.
“One-on-one he is really ugly to play against. He’s a good footballer, good player and he had a good game. Very good.”

A combative midfielder could be an important addition for Sunderland, as beyond Lee Cattermole, they currently lack bite in midfield.
Stewart is yet to taste many senior matches over his career, but he has impressed at development squad level.
