A number of Sunderland fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on the draw for the third round of the Carabao Cup, which has given the Black Cats a chance to claim another Premier League stadium as the victory at Burnley is to be followed up with a trip to Sheffield United.

The Stadium of Light outfit came from behind at Turf Moor to seal a place in the third round of the competition and take a top-flight scalp along the way thanks to goals from Will Grigg, Tom Flanagan and George Dobson.

Jay Rodriguez had put the Clarets ahead on 11 minutes by slotting in from the edge of the box after Matej Vydra’s run and pass, but Grigg’s neat finish in the 35th minute levelled the scores come half time.

Shortly after the interval, Sunderland got their noses in front when Flanagan headed home and George Dobson side-footed a third on 50 minutes, building a two-goal lead that was not to be relinquished come full time.

Sheffield United, meanwhile, ran out 2-1 winners over Blackburn Rovers at Bramall Lane as Richard Stearman and Oliver Norwood put the Blades two to the good by half time and Sam Gallagher netted what turned out to be a consolation for the visitors.
