The Black Cats – who are yet to play at the Stadium of Light in the cup this term – have beaten two top-flight teams so far.

A number of Sunderland fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on the draw for the fourth round of the League Cup, which has handed the Black Cats a tie away at Oxford United.

The Stadium of Light side began their cup campaign with victory away at Accrington Stanley before they saw off two Premier League sides in Burnley – a 3-1 win at Turf Moor – and, last night, getting the better of Sheffield United with a 1-0 win at Bramall Lane.

Oxford United, meanwhile, secured arguably the result of round three as they not only beat but outright thrashed top-flight West Ham United 4-0, with Elliott Moore, Matt Taylor, Tariq Fosu and Shandon Baptiste all netting at the Kassam Stadium.

Here is what some Sunderland fans said about the draw and the tie against Oxford – quite a few Black Cats faithful fancy their chances against a side in the same league as them, while others suggested they would stumble – and a few didn’t like the fact it was another away tie:

Ties are set to take place in the week commencing October 28.
