The Black Cats goalkeeper made another error as the Stadium of Light side fell to defeat in the Midlands.
A number of Sunderland fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Jon McLaughlin’s poor performance for the Black Cats as they fell to a 2-0 League One defeat at Lincoln.
The Stadium of Light goalkeeper made another bad decision as Neal Eardley’s hopeful delivery into the box seemed like just a routine collection, but Tyler Walker managed to race in and got his toe to the ball just after the first bounce to open the scoring for the Imps.
McLaughlin felt he was fouled for the goal but the referee didn’t deem it as such, and later on Walker added a second as Bruno Andrade’s early cross was touched in from close range by the Nottingham Forest loanee, compounding a dreadful afternoon for the 6ft 3in goalkeeper and the team.
Needless to say plenty of Black Cats fans have lost their patience with McLaughlin and the calls for Lee Burge to be given the goalkeeping jersey grow ever louder on social media:
