Sunderland fans react on Twitter to away kit teaser image

The Black Cats posted an image of the club badge on navy blue fabric and some Stadium of Light faithful gave their thoughts.

A number of Sunderland fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on the club’s teaser image for the 2019-20 away kit.

On Monday, the Black Cats social media feed posted a picture of the club badge embroidered on navy blue fabric, with the caption “coming soon”.

The last time Sunderland wore a navy blue kit was during the 2012-13 season, in which Martin O’Neill was sacked and Paolo Di Canio went on to rescue the team from relegation (Chronicle Live).

As also reported by Chronicle Live, the kit is set to be last one made by Adidas, with the Black Cats’ manufacturing deal with the German sportswear maker ending after this season.

As well as the official club teaser, some images appearing to show the full kit – modelled by players and fans on Roker beach – by have also been doing the rounds on social media.
