Sunderland were beaten 1-0 by Barnsley yesterday, as Chris Coleman’s side failed to get off to a good start to 2018.

Sunderland fans have slated George Honeyman’s performance in their latest contest against Barnsley, after the youngster failed to impress again.

And Honeyman’s performance has come in for particular criticism after the match.

Honeyman has been handed failure regular action for Sunderland this season, but he has only scored three goals in 23 Championship appearances.

Honeyman’s place in Sunderland’s team could come under threat in January, with Coleman looking to strengthen his midfield options.

Sunderland’s defeat against Barnsley has seen them slip back into the relegation zone in the Championship, after they worked hard to climb up the table recently.
