Sunderland fell back into the Championship’s bottom three as they drew at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland fans have expressed their anger on Twitter after watching Donald Love’s display during their draw with Birmingham City on Saturday that saw Chris Coleman’s men return to the Championship’s bottom three.
The Black Cats went into the game just outside the relegation zone after their win over Fulham last weekend, and they would have fancied their chances of moving even further away from the bottom with the Blues going in the contest off the back of a terrible run of form.
However, it was the visitors who took the lead, with Sam Gallagher scoring just his third goal since arriving on loan at St Andrew’s from Southampton in the summer – he would be sent off with just over 20 minutes to go after receiving a second yellow card.
Sunderland would equalise just five minutes after the Blues broke the deadlock however, with Lewis Grabban reacting quickest to Love’s shot to score his 12th goal of the season.
It was a game of little quality, and Burton’s win away at Reading means that Coleman’s men will spend Christmas in the bottom three, and unsurprisingly, given the quality of the match they had just seen and the opposition they were facing, there was plenty of frustration on social media amongst the fans.
Despite providing the assist – though he would do extremely well to argue that he meant it – Love’s performance was heavily criticised on Twitter, with many fans feeling that the former Manchester United trainee is simply not good enough for the Sunderland side.
