Sunderland are reportedly lining up a deal for the Manchester City midfielder in the summer.

It’s fair to say that many of the players who Sunderland have been linked with going into the summer transfer window have been underwhelming.
Sunderland appear to have been preparing for a drop into the Championship for some time, with David Moyes reportedly looking at buying the likes of Jason Cummings and Marc Roberts (The Sun).
While both Cummings and Roberts are decent prospects, they are hardly the sort of players whose arrivals will excite the Stadium Light.
However, one transfer link which should be particularly appealing for Sunderland fans is that of Aaron Mooy (The Sun).
The Black Cats are reportedly working on a deal to sign Mooy from Manchester City, after being impressed with his performances this season while on loan at Huddersfield Town.
And just viewing some of Huddersfield fans’ comments about the midfielder, should show how good an addition he would be for Sunderland.
Mooy has played a key role for Huddersfield this season, as they have aimed for promotion.
The 26-year-old has scored four goals and claimed five assists in 39 Championship appearances, as Huddersfield have mounted a strong promotion challenge.
And the Australian is exactly the sort of player Sunderland should be targeting, if they are to bounce straight back from their impeding relegation.
