Grigg was in action for Sunderland in their League One game against Southend at the Stadium of Light on Saturday afternoon.
The 28-year-old striker started the match and played for 78 minutes, as the Black Cats won 1-0.
The Northern Ireland international did not have a good game, struggled to get into it, and also failed to make the most of the chances he got.
So far this season, the former Wigan Athletic striker has made five starts and 10 substitute appearances in League One for the Black Cats so far this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist in the process, according to WhoScored.
The win against Southend means that the Black Cats are seventh in the League One table at the moment with 25 points from 15 matches, a point behind sixth-placed Coventry City, who have played 16 games.
