Sunderland boss Jack Ross could reportedly move onto West Bromwich Albion’s radar as they look for their next manager.
A number of Sunderland fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the reports from The Sun on Sunday (14/4; page 61) which claimed that Jack Ross could become a target for West Brom as the Baggies look for their next manager.
The Championship promotion-chasers appeared to be pushing towards getting Alex Neil in as Darren Moore’s permanent successor, but as reported by Sky Sports at the weekend, the Preston North End boss has signed a new three-year deal at Deepdale.
With Neil seemingly out of the running, it appears that the Baggies could potentially turn their attention to the Black Cats boss. The Sun on Sunday (14/4; page 61) reported that West Brom could be interested in Ross as he continues to guide Sunderland towards an immediate return to the second tier.
His side sit third in the League One table, two points off second place Barnsley with a game in hand. Their automatic-promotion bid was dealt a setback as they lost a stunning game at the weekend, with Coventry winning 5-4 at the Stadium of Light.
But Ross appears to have done a good job. Nevertheless, it seems that there are some Sunderland fans who would be happy to see the former St Mirren boss end up at the Hawthorns.
Some of the supporters on social media are either confused that he has been linked with a club that could end the season having booked their ticket to the Premier League, or are now hoping that the Baggies do step up their interest and lure him away.
