Barnsley were one of the sides that beat Sunderland to promotion last season.

Some Sunderland fans are urging their side to appoint the Barnsley manager Daniel Stendel.
Stendel led Barnsley to promotion as League One runners-up last season, pipping Sunderland who were ultimately defeated in the play-off final.
But the Tykes have made a poor start to life back in the Championship and dropped to 23rd with a 5-1 loss at Preston North End on Saturday.
According to Sky Sports, Stendel’s time in Barnsley is about to come to an end, with the German set to leave before the Tykes’ next league game against Swansea City.

And with their own side so far falling short of expectations, there is already a clamour for the 45-year-old to replace Jack Ross at Sunderland.
This is what those of a Mackems persuasion are saying on Twitter…
A former Bundesliga striker with Hamburger SV and Hannover 96, Stendel also enjoyed brief success as manager of the latter club who sacked him in 2017.
The Frankfurter joined Barnsley the following summer and proved an instant success in South Yorkshire.
Sunderland fans – would Stendel be a good appointment for the Mackems?
