Sunderland overcame Bournemouth 2-1 this weekend to get a huge three points on the board.
Sunderland got their first win of the season this weekend as they came from behind to defeat Bournemouth 2-1 on Saturday.
The result was even better considering the Black Cats were down to 10 men for the last 31 minutes following Steven Pienaar’s dismissal for two bookable offences.

Goals from Victor Anichebe and Jermain Defoe gave David Moyes’ side the win and the Sunderland boss will be hoping this is the start of a serious upturn in form.
Sunderland were under the cosh for much of their encounter, but apart from conceding an early Dan Gosling goal the back-line held firm, including summer signing Papy Djilobodji.

The 27-year-old has been slammed for a number of his performances but he looked far more comfortable this time out, even if the doubters remain.
