According to The Sun, Sunderland are interested in appointing former Leicester City and Derby County boss Pearson as their new manager.
It has been reported by the British tabloid that Pearson could bring with him Sunderland legend Kevin Phillips to the Stadium of Light as his assistant manager.
The Englishman is a hugely experienced manager who has been in charge of Leicester, Derby and Hull City among other clubs in the past.
