Sunderland boss Jack Ross is said to be keen to snap up Stewart Downing, following his release.

Sunderland fans largely appear to be against the idea of signing Stewart Downing.
However, Black Cats supporters feel that Downing would not be a smart addition.
The former England international is now 34, and only had a limited impact at Boro last season.
And Sunderland fans feel that they should be targeting younger additions now.
Sunderland are on the hunt for players who can help them earn promotion back to the Championship this summer.
Jack Ross’s side fell just short over the past campaign, as they eventually lost in the play off final to Charlton Athletic.
If Downing was to arrive at Sunderland he would add competition for places out wide, with the Black Cats needing additions in attack following the expiration of Lewis Morgan’s and Kazaiah Sterling’s loans.
