Haroun Tchaouna is a target for League One Sunderland but is he heading to France instead with Ligue 1 outfit Angers?

A new striker could be on his way to the Stadium of Light imminently.
Speaking to TChad Infos, free agent Haroun Tchaouna has claimed that he’s been invited to the Stadium of Light ahead of a potential bargain move to Jack Ross’ Black Cats.
But who is he? Well, apart from the fact that he’s 19, most recently spent time in the Italian third tier and already has a cap for the Chad national team, there’s not exactly a barrage of information out there concerning an exciting forward who has obviously caught Sunderland’s eye.

Tchaouna himself admits that he is waiting to hear back following a trial at Ligue 1 outfit Angers before he makes the next step. For obvious reasons, joining a club in the French top flight and playing alongside another Chadian international in Casimir Ninga might be more tempting than a potential move to the third tier of English football.
But how do Sunderland fans feel about the prospect of a new striker arriving on Wearside? With Will Grigg and Charlie Wyke still struggling in front of goal, anyone who can find the net with a degree of regularity would be welcomed with open arms.
