Sunderland fans have taken to Twitter to slam Lee Cattermole’s performance after the midfielder proved to be hugely disappointing once again as the Black Cats’ survival hopes in the Championship took another blow.

Chris Coleman’s side went into Saturday’s trip to Loftus Road still looking to secure their first win since beating Hull City 1-0 back in January and looking to bounce back from the 3-0 thrashing from Aston Villa in midweek that had extended the run without a victory to eight games.

It was an underwhelming first-half performance from the visitors, but it was one that got them to the break still goalless. However, it took just four minutes of the second-half for the fans to get that sinking feeling once again.

Jason Steele was sent off for handling the ball outside his area and QPR would score the game’s only goal shortly after the hour mark to ease their own concerns about potentially being dragged towards the bottom three.

It was another hugely disappointing performance from Coleman’s men – the away side failed to put a single shot on target – and one of the displays that was criticised the most by the fans was that of Lee Cattermole.

The midfielder may have been one of the club’s slightly better performers lately, but his display against the Hoops angered the supporters with his role in the goal proving to cause particular frustration as he seemed to get beaten so easily as QPR went through.
