Jack Ross handed Jerome Sinclair a chance to start for Sunderland, but he failed to catch the eye.

Sunderland fans have slated Jerome Sinclair’s latest performance for them against Newcastle United’s under-23 side.
Sinclair has fallen out of favour at Sunderland recently, but Jack Ross handed him a chance in the Checkatrade Trophy.
However, the Watford loanee failed to impress the crowd at the Stadium of Light, with his performance widely criticised.
Sinclair begun this season in Sunderland’s first-team, but the youngster’s chances have become more and more limited.
Ross admitted that Sinclair was growing frustrated with his lack of starts at Sunderland in the week, but the Scottish boss has been impressed by the striker’s performances in training.
Despite Sinclair’s struggles Sunderland still picked up a comfortable victory yesterday.
The Black Cats ran out 4-0 winners over Newcastle, as they progressed to the next round of the Checkatrade Trophy.
