Sunderland are into the Checkatrade Trophy final after beating Bristol Rovers.

Sunderland have set up a Checkatrade Trophy Final clash with League One promotion rivals Portsmouth after beating Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night.
The Black Cats have been in fine form in League One of late, and were looking to book a trip to Wembley as they headed down to Bristol.
That’s exactly what Jack Ross got, as Sunderland coasted to a 2-0 win over the Pirates, picking up yet another victory.
A smart turn and finish from Will Grigg put Sunderland in front on the stroke of half time, with the Northern Irish international showing why Ross splashed the cash to sign him.
Just moments after the second half started, Sunderland made it 2-0, with Celtic loanee Lewis Morgan getting himself on the scoresheet for the first time in a Sunderland shirt.
Sunderland stood firm to keep a clean sheet and secure their passage to Wembley, with fans no doubt dreaming of a trophy win this season.

Grigg and Morgan starred with their goals, but it was another January signing who dazzled fans, with midfielder Grant Leadbitter impressing fans.
Supporters named Leadbitter as the man of the match, adding that he’s a pleasure to watch and has no business playing in League One because he’s so composed on the ball, branding him ‘immense’ and a ‘class above’ in last night’s victory.
