Sunderland fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Aiden McGeady against Barnsley.

McGeady featured for Sunderland in the Championship game against Barnsley at the Stadium of Light on Monday afternoon.

The 31-year-old winger started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as the home team lost 1-0.

Ethan Pinnock’s goal in the 47th minute proved to be the difference between the two sides at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland fans were not impressed with the performance of the 31-year-old Republic of Ireland international winger.

McGeady joined Sunderland from Everton in the summer of 2017 when Simon Grayson was in charge of the Black Cats.

According to The Irish Mirror, the Black Cats had to pay the Toffees a transfer fee of £250,000 in order to secure the services of the winger.

Sunderland are struggling in the Championship at the moment and are in danger of getting relegated to League One at the end of the season.
