Sunderland fans were given mixed news yesterday with reports emerging regarding a potential takeover.
The Times claim the Fulwell73 consortium, made up of wealthy fans and investors, are in contention to buy Ellis Short’s stake in the club.
The not so exciting news was that The Times claim they have approached Tony Adams regarding the vacant managerial role.

Sunderland are yet to appoint a successor to David Moyes, and suffered a public knockback in their pursuit of Aberdeen’s Derek McInnes, who opted to stay in Scotland.
Tony Adams was a great player, but his managerial career has not been so stellar.
In England he has worked at Wycombe Wanderers and Portsmouth, the latter of which ended in 2009.
He has continued to focus on his coaching in recent years, and after a stint in Azerbaijan, he popped up at Spanish side Granada at the end of last season.
He was on a hiding to nothing in Spain, taking over an already doomed side, but losing every game did not help his prospects or reputation.
The idea of handing him the keys at Sunderland is understandably making supporters nervous.
