Sunderland are said to be interested in snapping up Middlesbrough midfielder Grant Leadbitter.
Sunderland are said to be keen to snap up the Middlesbrough man this summer, with Simon Grayson making him one of his top targets.
Sunderland have some money to spend, following the sale of Jeremain Lens, and Black Cats fans are hopeful that Leadbitter could return for a second stint at the Stadium of Light.
Leadbitter developed through Sunderland’s youth academy, and spent six years in their senior squad between 2003 and 2009.
The 31-year-old made 123 appearances for Sunderland, scoring 11 goals for the North East side.

Since leaving Sunderland, Leadbitter has gone on to play for Ipswich Town and Boro, and become established as an excellent midfield option in the Championship.
Sunderland got their season off to a credible start last weekend, when they drew 1-1 with Derby County.
