And Sunderland fans are eager to see the target-man brought to the Stadium of Light.

The Black Cats were unable to keep hold of Lewis Grabban and they also sold James Vaughan, which leaves Coleman with limited choices over who to pick up-front.

Martin would bring experience and quality to Sunderland’s front line, which could be crucial over the second half of the season.
