Ola Toivonen has joined Sunderland on a season-long loan deal from Rennes.
Sunderland fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the signing of Ola Toivonen.
The 29-year-old, who can play as an attacking midfielder or a striker, has joined Premier League outfit Sunderland on a season-long loan deal from French outfit Rennes.
The Sweden international is a highly rated player who played under current Black Cats manager Dick Advocaat at PSV during a five-year spell in the Eredivisie.
Since joining Rennes in January 2014, Toivonen has scored 14 goals in 46 Ligue 1 appearances.
Toivonen has been brought in at the Stadium of Light in order to add more flair and creativity to Sunderland’s attack.
The Black Cats have started the 2015-16 Premier League badly, and there are concerns that they will once again be fighting for survival this season.
