DeAndre Yedlin spent last year on loan at Sunderland and could sign for rivals Newcastle.

Newcastle have made a £5 million bid for Tottenham full back DeAndre Yedlin, reports the Daily Mail.
The American defender wants regular first team football, having spent last year on loan at Newcastle’s biggest rivals Sunderland.

Rafael Benitez wants to bring in the 23-year-old to replace Daryl Janmaat, who has been heavily linked with a move away from St James’ Park.
Aston Villa are also reported to be interested in Yedlin’s services, but their interest may now have cooled after they completed a deal to bring Ritchie De Laet to Villa Park from Premier League champions Leicester.
The USA international can play at both left and right back, and made 23 appearances last year in the Premier League for Sunderland.

Yedlin had been linked with a move back to the Stadium of Light, but could now be on his way to Tyneside instead of Wearside, much to the annoyance of some Sunderland fans.
Some fans are upset about missing out on another transfer target, while others are annoyed about losing Yedlin to their rivals. However, some are not phased by the potential transfer of a player they do not own to another club.

With another move to the North East looking likely for Yedlin, but this time in black and white, Sunderland fans have taken to Twitter to express their feelings about their former player potentially switching allegiance to Newcastle.
