Sunderland fans feel sorry for West Ham… but not David Moyes.

David Moyes’ stint at West Ham hit an early low last night as they were thrashed 4-0 by his former club Everton.

Moyes had hoped he could quickly erase memories of his horrific spell in charge of Sunderland last season, but instead he has carried on where he left off.

Moyes infuriated Sunderland fans when he was appointed by the Hammers by blaming the Black Cats set up for his poor spell.

But early results at West Ham suggest he may have been more culpable than he cares to admit.

David Moyes, Manager of West Ham United looks on during the Premier League match between Everton and West Ham United at Goodison Park on November 29, 2017 in Liverpool, England.

Moyes was put to the sword by former protege Wayne Rooney, who scored an impressive hat-trick, with Ashley Williams netting a fourth.

West Ham are now rooted in the relegation zone, and the manner of this defeat is serious reason to be concerned.

Sunderland fans at least are feeling vindicated, without any real malice towards West Ham themselves, they are more than content to see Moyes struggling, while they deal with the after effects of his management at the bottom of the Championship.
