Sunderland have announced the signing of Joleon Lescott today.
Sunderland fans do not appear to be best pleased with the arrival of Joleon Lescott.
The Black Cats confirmed their first addition of the January transfer window, by bringing in Lescott on a free transfer.
David Moyes has limited money to spend at the Stadium of Light, and decided that Lescott had the ability to improve their defensive options.
However, the bulk of Sunderland fans have classed the transfer as an act of desperation, and have not welcomed his arrival.
Lescott has worked with Moyes before when the pair were at Everton, but his career has gone downhill recently.
The 34-year-old was relegated with Aston Villa last season, and struggled over the first half of the campaign with AEK Athens.

Lescott has joined Sunderland at a point when the Black Cats are stuck at the bottom of the Premier League table.
Lescott could make his Sunderland debut next week, when his side take on Tottenham Hotspur.
