Sunderland won 3-1 against Carlisle United in the Football League Trophy last night.

Sunderland fans have offered a mixed reaction to Dylan McGeouch’s performance in the Football League Trophy last night.
McGeouch was handed a start for Sunderland against Carlisle United, and he helped his side to a 3-1 win.
The midfielder managed to get on the ball regularly, but his display did not impress everyone watching on at the Stadium of Light.
While Sunderland fans felt that McGeouch did put in a credible performance, others feel that he is too defensively minded in his distribution.
McGeouch was only brought to Sunderland in the summer, so is likely to still be adapting to English football.
Jack Ross is known to be a big fan of the Scot, so he is almost certain to be handed more chances as the season progresses.
Sunderland scored their goals against Carlisle through Benji Kimpioka, Ethan Robson and George Honeyman, in a good night for their academy graduates.
