Sunderland have been linked to Christian Benteke.
Christian Benteke scores for Liverpool
Liverpool striker Christian Benteke has emerged as a transfer target for David Moyes’ Sunderland, with The Mirror reporting they are keen on a deal.
Benteke is up for sale – at a high price – after a difficult season at Liverpool, where he struggled to win over new boss Jurgen Klopp.

Sunderland were one of the teams he scored against, netting a winner at the Stadium of Light earlier this year.
The big restriction on a deal would be money, with it doubtful Sunderland could cover the sort of £30 million fee Liverpool are seeking to recoup the fee they splashed out to sign him from Aston Villa last summer.

The Black Cats’ best bet would be to sign the Belgian striker on a loan deal, but even then his high wages would have to be covered, or at least a large percentage of them.
Up front he could be an ideal foil for Jermain Defoe, and his record of scoring at around one in two for Aston Villa was a strong one.
They would also get highly motivated striker, one determined to prove Liverpool wrong in overlooking him.
