Sunderland beat Leicester City 2-1 at the Stadium of Light yesterday.
Billy Jones has earned widespread praise from Sunderland fans on Twitter for the performances which he has put in over recent weeks.
Jones has struggled since joining Sunderland back in 2014, and many supporters of the Black Cats felt that the right-back was not good enough to represent them.
However, the 29-year-old appears to be changing the opinion of Sunderland fans through his recent showings.
Jones has played a key part in Sunderland’s defence, as David Moyes’ side have put together a fine run of form.
Sunderland have won three of their last four matches to move to within a point of safety, and Jones has started in every one of the fixtures.
The former West Brom man has been solid defensively, and a threat going forward – with some Sunderland fans admitting they were wrong about him.
Jones was again excellent against Leicester City yesterday, as Moyes’ side picked up a 2-1 victory.
And Sunderland fans were quick to heap praise on the right-back, for proving many of them wrong.
Sunderland are now in 18th place in the Premier League table, with their next contest coming against Swansea City.
