The Black Cats League One fixture away at Accrington Stanley has now got a new date, though it could potentially change again.
Sunderland have confirmed the new date for their League One fixture away at Accrington Stanley, but some of the Black Cats faithful have criticised the fact it could yet be changed once again.
The Wearsiders’ original game at the Wham Stadium in December was abandoned after 73 minutes due to torrential rain and a waterlogged pitch, with the scores level at 1-1, and as such was rearranged for Tuesday, March 5.
However, Sunderland’s involvement in the Checkatrade Trophy means they would be involved in the semi-finals of the competition during that time, therefore another rescheduling has taken place.
As announced on the Black Cats website, the fixture against Stanley is now set to take place on Tuesday, April 2 at the Wham Stadium, kicking off at 7:45pm, but that is still not the end of it.
If Sunderland beat Bristol Rovers on Tuesday, March 5 and reach the final of the Checkatrade Trophy, which will be played at Wembley on Sunday, March 31, then the game will be moved to Wednesday, April 3, with a 7:45pm kickoff.
