The 20-year-old is another player featured in the Black Cats 2019 calendar – the March entry – who has now left before the end of January.

Sunderland have confirmed what a lot of fans were dreading but also expecting by announcing that Josh Maja has left the Stadium of Light.
The 20-year-old forward turned down a new contract at the Stadium of Light earlier this month and has now joined Bordeaux on on a four-and-a-half-year deal, according to the French club’s website.
Maja, who came through the ranks at the Wearside outfit, has joined the Ligue 1 side for an undisclosed fee, but according to Sky Sports News, the sum involved could rise up to £3.5million.
The former Crystal Palace and Fulham academy ace scored 16 goals in 30 appearances for Sunderland in 2018-19, helping Jack Ross’ side to third in the League One table following relegation last term, but was out of contract at the end of the season.
Maja was also the subject of interest from Premier League sides Cardiff and Palace, according to Sky Sports News, but has now linked up with a side currently 11th in the French top flight.
Incidentally, the London-born striker’s departure means that a second player featured in the Sunderland 2019 calendar has now departed in the first month of the year, following Jerome Sinclair’s return to Watford.
