The Black Cats forward has secured a permanent switch to the Scottish Premiership side. Here is how some fans reacted to the news.
Sunderland striker Andrew Nelson has sealed a move to Scottish Premiership side Dundee on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
The 21-year-old came through the ranks at the Stadium of Light and played for the Black Cats’ Under-23s.
Nelson did not get a game for Sunderland’s senior team, however, but enjoyed several stints away on loan with the likes of Hartlepool United, Harrogate Town and Falkirk (Transfermarkt).
Dundee confirmed the move on their official website, saying the deal is for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance, and the player will wear the number 21 shirt for the club.
According to the Sunderland Echo, Nelson was on the radar of a number of clubs this month following a successful loan spell at National League North side Darlington, which yielded six goals in five games, after returning from a foot injury.

Dundee are currently at the bottom of the Scottish Premiership table, with just two wins and 10 points from 21 games, leaving them four points from safety, and are the joint-second lowest scorers in the division.
Sunderland’s next game is away at Scunthorpe in League One on Saturday, while Dundee host Queen of the South in the Scottish Cup on the same day.
