Sunderland fans poke fun as club’s Twitter post falls flat

The Black Cats Twitter account has been in good form lately but their ‘blurry’ training image resulted in some ribbing from the club faithful.

Sunderland’s League One form might have suffered a bit of a wobble in recent weeks but they returned to winning ways last Saturday with a 1-0 triumph over AFC Wimbledon following three consecutive league draws.

Jack Ross’ charges are currently fourth in the League One table, but they have two games in hand on the two teams above them and three on leaders Luton Town ahead of Saturday’s trip to Oxford United.

The Black Cats are also in the semi-finals of the Checkatrade Trophy and did well in the January transfer window, bolstering their ranks with the likes of Will Grigg, Grant Leadbitter, Lewis Morgan and Jimmy Dunne all arriving at the Stadium of Light.

Going hand in hand with the improvements at the club over the past few months, Sunderland’s Twitter account has also played its part, fostering a fun and joyous atmosphere online which seems a million miles away from how things used to be.

Even when they fell a bit flat with their recent tweet asking fans to identify their player back in training, thanks to their use of a blurry camera lens, all that resulted was some good natured ribbing from some of the Black Cats fanbase:
