The Black Cats suffered a 3-0 loss at the hands of fellow relegation candidates Swansea away from home at the Liberty Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
After a goalless first half, Gylfi Sigurdsson put the home team in the lead six minutes into the second period.
Fernando Llorente made it 2-0 to the Swans on 54 minutes, and then scored his second goal of the match 10 minutes from full time.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday afternoon, hosts Swansea had 62% of the possession, took 14 shots of which five were on target, and earned seven corners, according to BBC Sport.
Visitors Sunderland had 38% of the possession, took 11 shots of which only two were on target, and earned four corners, according to BBC Sport.
The defeat means that David Moyes’s side are at the foot of the league table at the moment with just 11 points from 15 matches, two points behind 17th-placed West Ham United.
