Sunderland have won their last four games in all competitions and now sit fourth in the League One table.

A number of Sunderland fans have taken to Twitter to laud Charlie Wyke’s transformation after Jack Ross’ men collected their fourth win on the spin in all competitions with a 3-1 victory over AFC Wimbledon at the Stadium of Light.

Chris Maguire was the man to steal all of the headlines as he bagged a hat-trick to down the Dons. But there were a number of impressive performances on show as the Black Cats secured the win to move up to fourth in the League One table.

Wyke endured an extremely underwhelming first season at Sunderland as he scored just four league goals for the club. But something appears to have clicked for the 26-year-old this season.

He went into Saturday’s game having already scored twice this term, including the winner in the midweek victory over Rochdale. And he seemed to take plenty of confidence into the weekend as he proved to be a real handful for the Wimbledon defenders.

Wyke should have arguably got a goal himself, but that did not stop the Sunderland fans on social media lauding the striker for his performance in the impressive win.

Plenty have suggested that the former Bradford City man looks to be a completely different player this season, and they are hoping that he can prove to be a key man for Ross’ men during the coming months as they look to go one better than the last campaign.
