Sunderland beat Bradford City 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.

Sunderland picked up another three points in League One on Saturday afternoon with a 2-1 away victory over Bradford City in an action-packed encounter.
After a 2-2 home draw with Peterborough United in midweek, Sunderland were hoping to get back to winning ways, and went on the road to struggling Bradford in search of a win.
Sunderland did take the lead in the first half as striker Josh Maja continued his fine form with his ninth goal of the season, opening the scoring on 20 minutes.
The game came to life in the second half, as Anthony O’Connor pulled Bradford level for just two minutes before Jack Baldwin put Sunderland back in front.
That proved to be the winning goal, but there was more incident to come as Max Power was sent off for Sunderland, and Bradford winger Sean Scannell also received his marching orders.
Sunderland moved up to third in the table with their win, and sit just one point off an automatic promotion spot as Jack Ross continues to thrive with the Black Cats.

Many of his summer signings are thriving, such as match-winner Baldwin, but fans particularly hailed forward Chris Maguire for his performance at Valley Parade.
The Scot, signed from Bury for free this summer, has quickly become a fan favourite at Sunderland, and fans took to Twitter to praise him as ‘brilliant’ and ‘top class’, noting that whilst opposition fans may hate him – and Black Cats fans think he’s the kind of player they’d hate to be against – Maguire is proving that he is a bargain.
