Jack Ross is taking over as manager of Sunderland after leaving Scottish Championship side St Mirren.

Jack Ross has been appointed as the new Sunderland manager on a two-year contract, the club has confirmed, after winning the Scottish Championship title with St Mirren last term and fans have taken to social media to express their excitement.
The 41-year-old coach had previously been linked with moves to Championship outfits Ipswich and Barnsley this summer, before eventually taking the job of head-coach at the Stadium of Light.
His appointment is the first significant move made by new owner Stewart Donald, following his club take-over earlier this week.
Sunderland fans have had little to cheer about in recent years, after suffering consecutive relegations from the Premier League and then the Championship in the last two seasons. But the mood is changing on Wearside and fans are feeling optimistic about the near future.
here’s the reaction:
New owner, Donald has highlighted his belief in the new manager, pointing to the fact that Ross has turned down lucrative deals from other clubs in order to bring Sunderland back to where they should be.
Ross will now be joined at Sunderland by former Kilmarnock player turned assistant manager James Fowler.
