Sunderland are reportedly eyeing a stunning move for John McGinn this summer.

Sunderland fans have been taking to Twitter to comment on the reports that have emerged from The Scottish Sun which have suggested that the Black Cats are keen on signing John McGinn this summer.
McGinn is one of the brightest talents in the Scottish Premiership right now, and would have to be considered one of the very best from those who do not play for Celtic. He played a vital role in the middle of the park for a Hibs side that took no time to reestablish themselves at the highest level following last season’s promotion.

It appears that Neil Lennon may be about to lose the 23-year-old however, with Brighton and Bournemouth named by The Scottish Sun as two sides interested in bringing the £3 million-rated ace to the Premier League, while The Scottish Sun also recently reported that Leeds, Rangers and Celtic were keen on bagging his signature.

Unsurprisingly, the news appear to have gone down extremely well amongst the Sunderland fans on social media, with many excited about the possibility of signing such a highly-rated talent – though it must be mentioned that a couple of fans are not convinced that the Black Cats would be able to win the race given that they will be in League One next season.
The links are still a sign however, that Sunderland’s new owners appear to be determined to make their stay in the third tier a very brief one. And that is perhaps why the fans appear to be extremely optimistic after such a difficult few years for the club.
Here is the best of the reaction to the reports…
