Wilder, who has admitted that he could quit Sheffield United, is one of the early favourites to become Sunderland’s next boss.

Sunderland fans seem to be in agreement over the potential appointment of Sheffield United’s Chris Wilder as manager.
There does however appear to be a difference of opinion as to whether or not Wilder would take the job vacated by Chris Coleman on Sunday.

Wilder, a lifelong Sheffield United supporter, has led to Blades to the League One title and a guaranteed top half Championship finish in his two seasons as Bramall Lane boss.
But ongoing boardroom disharmony caused the 50-year-old to admit he could quit the club in the wake of Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat by Preston North End.
Wilder has since emerged as one of the favourites – and at one stage the outright front runner – to be Sunderland’s next boss, a year after he was last linked to the Stadium of Light post.

Intriguingly, the former Oxford United manager is already known to Sunderland’s prospective owner Stewart Donald – a fan and financial backer of the League One side.
But can the Mackems convince him to move ahead of the club’s first third tier campaign in 31 years? This is what the Stadium of Light faithful are saying on Twitter…
