Sunderland have been linked with Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers forward Martyn Waghorn.

Sunderland fans do not appear to be impressed, after hearing that Glasgow Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn is on Simon Grayson’s radar at the Stadium of Light.

Waghorn has struggled badly at Rangers in recent times, and looks to be up for sale this summer.

Martyn Waghorn of Rangers is seen on arrival at the stadium prior to the Scottish Cup Semi-Final match between Celtic and Rangers at Hampden Park on April 23, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

And it is said by the Daily Mail that Sunderland are now keen to bring Waghorn back to Wearside.

Whether a move will materialise still remains to be seen, as a lot of work is still yet to be done before a transfer can take place.

But the bulk of Sunderland’s supporters are hoping that Grayson does not make a move for the Rangers man.

Waghorn has struggled to win favour at Ibrox in recent times, and he is not a particularly popular figure with Rangers fans.

Waghorn scored just seven goals in the league last term, as Rangers only managed to finish in third place.

During his first spell with Sunderland, Waghorn failed to find the back of the net in eight senior appearances.
