The Black Cats played out a 1-1 draw with West Brom at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Nacer Chadli put the Baggies in the lead in the 35th minute, but Van Aanholt restored parity for the home team seven minutes from full time.

The 26-year-old Sunderland left-back has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the final result.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at the Stadium of Light on Saturday afternoon, hosts Sunderland had 56% of the possession, took seven shots of which two were on target, and earned six corners, according to BBC Sport.
Visitors West Brom had 44% of the possession, took 17 shots of which seven were on target, and earned five corners, according to BBC Sport.
Sunderland are at the foot of the Premier League table at the moment with just two points from seven matches.
