Papy Djilobodji is one of two players left from last season’s squad who Sunderland hope to depart this summer.

Sunderland began a new era earlier this sumner, as new men in charge Jack Ross and Stewart Donald began to re-build the Black Cats squad for their League One campaign.
The Wearside team made 12 signings this summer, but still need to move want-away pairing Didier Ndong and Papy Djilobodji, both of whom have been linked with moves away from the North-East.
According to reports from the Chronicle, however, Djilobodji’s loan move to Trabzanspor could go through early this week.
Djilobodji joined Sunderland from Chelsea in 2016, but after failing to make an impact, the 29-year-old was moved out on loan to French side Dijon.
The Senegalese defender made 18 appearances for the Black Cats and 29 for the French club, but after failing to report back for training with Sunderland, the League One side have been keen to move him on to free up wages,

And after month’s of speculation surrounding the central defender’s future, Sunderland could see their highest wage earner by as soon as Monday.
The deal would be a season-long loan with an option to buy for Turklish outfit The Super Lig club, but the move would allow Sunderland’s manager the freedom to potentially make a move for reinforcements before the loan window shuts on Friday.
