The Everton man is currently on loan at Sunderland for the season.
According to The Daily Mail, Everton are considering a swoop for Wolverhampton Wanderers left-back Ruben Vinagre.
The 18-year-old has impressed for the Championship side so far during his season-long loan from Monaco and his form has seemingly alerted Everton.
If the Toffees are genuinely interested then it surely means that Brendan Galloway has no future at Goodison Park and Sunderland boss Simon Grayson should fancy his chances of signing the 21-year-old on a permanent basis.
Grayson signed the youngster on loan this past summer and he might well consider a long-term move if Everton do wind up pursuing Vinagre.
It makes sense, but the question is whether Sunderland want Galloway.
The youngster hasn’t played for Grayson in any competition since the 2-1 defeat by Sheffield United on September 9 but his first-team chances went from bad to worse this month when he was used in a Checkatrade Trophy clash at Doncaster.
The Black Cats visit Brentford tomorrow and it seems unlikely that Galloway will be even included in the trip to London.
You wonder if he has blown his chance at Sunderland already and although his future at Everton looks bleak, it’s not much brighter on Wearside.
