Sunderland have been linked with a move for Derby County midfielder Joe Ledley.

Any hope Chris Coleman might have had of a reunion with Joe Ledley at Sunderland looks to have been dashed by the Derby County midfielder’s new contract.
Ledley’s Derby deal was due to expire at the end of December, but will now run until June 2019, as confirmed by the Rams on Tuesday.
Coleman was the 30-year-old’s Wales manager for five years until the start of this month, when he quit to succeed Simon Grayson at Sunderland.
And a report in the Daily Mirror on Friday [page 74] claimed the Sunderland boss was keen on a move for him in January.
But it is now extremely unlikely that Ledley will leave Pride Park this winter.

The former Crystal Palace player, who was released by the Eagles in June, has made 10 appearances for Derby, and last night’s defeat at the hands of Ipswich Town was his first in Rams colours.
