Sunderland are reportedly set to sign Everton defender Tyias Browning.
According to Sky Sports, Everton defender Tyias Browning has travelled to Wearside to undergo a medical with Sunderland ahead of reuniting with Simon Grayson.
New Black Cats boss Grayson needs new faces in his Sunderland squad, and Browning is one of three Everton players heading for the Stadium of Light, alongside Brendan Galloway and Aiden McGeady.

Whilst McGeady excelled in a loan spell with Preston under Grayson’s tutelage last season, the same can’t really be said for defender Browning.
Grayson swooped to land Browning on loan from Everton in January after an injury to Alex Baptiste, given that he could also play at right back or centre back, giving real versatility in defence.
However, 23-year-old Browning failed to impress with North End, enduring niggling injuries that kept him out of action, before a torrid performance away at Newcastle in April, where he was found wanting throughout in a thumping 4-1 defeat at St. James’ Park.
Now heading for a surprise second spell under Grayson, Browning needs to impress in order to save his Everton career, after coming all the way up through the ranks with the Toffees since joining in 2004.

Browning never really looked comfortable at right back during his time with Preston, and may be better off featuring at centre back, and with Grayson’s defence looking unbalanced at the moment, it’s unclear just where Browning will play for Sunderland.
The defender has struggled with injuries, failed to figure out his best position and has made just nine first-team appearances for Everton, meaning he desperately needs a good spell with Sunderland – and Grayson will be hoping that more time working with Browning and keeping him fully fit can finally see him flourish under his stewardship having struggled under him last term.
